You need to do is install the SEO Metadata extension. Here is a guide for that:

I use this extension and it's great, phpBB could have had these meta tags by default for a long time, without the need for an extension.

Print is just one example of how it looks when we share the links to topics on WhatsApp, but the same goes for other social networks, x, facebook, Telegram...

The first is phpbb.com and the second is an example thread from my forum with the Metadata seo extension.
