Yes but ... forcing how a link is opened is not thinking about the "customers" but thinking "for" (as in instead of) the customers.
I think we all have to remember that, while we may know a lot about how the internet works, not everyone does, we need to think about all customers not just the few like us.
Basically there are 4 options: open in a) same window, b) new window, c) same tab, and d) new tab (and the 5th = open with another browser). This is all configurable using browser settings or keyboard shortcuts( even mouse gestures, although that may not always be an option for some older people

This is a 2 year old topic: I suspect that by now 4mbp5 will have improved his search skills.I was unable to find any in Google search. I am using Chrome, Firefox & Edge
